Disabled info

Bingley Music Live is committed to ensuring that disabled visitors to the festival have the same opportunity to enjoy the event as anyone. Through listening to feedback and consulting with disabled festival goers we aim to make your experience of the festival a more enjoyable one.

The festival is held on a Greenfield site and as such there are sections of the arena with uneven or inaccessible ground. A viewing area for disabled people is accessible via the network of tarmac paths within the park. This viewing area is set on a raised platform to the side of the arena providing a good view of the stage. There is no obligation to use this area but disabled guests may feel more comfortable here.

Car Parking

Car parking for disabled visitors is available at Myrtle Park Primary School. This parking is limited, not pre bookable and is allocated on a first come first served basis over the weekend. The Postcode of Myrtle Park Primary School is BD16 1HB. The car park is less than 200 meters from the entrance to the festival arena. A valid Blue Badge is required for access to this car park.

Toilets

Toilets for disabled visitors are available prior to the entrance gates, in the event arena and at the disabled viewing area.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are the only animals allowed on the festival site.

Seating

No seating is provided for disabled visitors or carers. Please bring your own.

Event Buddies

Disabled visitors will be able to call upon the services of an event “buddy” if required. These people will be on hand specifically for those people who find getting to the beer tent or catering van difficult. The service will only be operated in the disabled viewing area.

Performances

Please be aware certain performances will use strobe lighting/lasers without announcement which may affect people with photo sensitive epilepsy.

Personal Assistant/Carer Tickets

In our commitment to make the Festival accessible to everyone, we may provide those disabled ticket holders that require full time assistance with a free ticket for a partner, accompanying friend or personal assistant (PA). You will need to fill in the PA application form and provide a copy of your most recent DLA letter showing your current entitlement. The deadline for us receiving this application is Friday the 17th of August 2012.

Disabled tickets are the same as all other festival goers, and there is no separate allocation.
To apply for a free ticket for a PA please see the tickets page and look for Disabled Personal Assistant/Carer
